Program Goals
-To consolidate a research body based on critical thinking, knowledge production, and a reference in architecture, urbanism and design contemporary studies.
– To encourage participants to research practices and teaching skills within historical and geographical realities, considering the built space production processes and its artifacts in varied scales.
– To promote continuing education of architects and urban planners, designers and professionals from related areas, qualifying them as future teachers and researchers able to perform with excellence in public or private institutions.
– To consider the indissolubility of education, research and extension practices within the scope of this program’s concentration area, research lines, offered courses and teaching staff integrated research projects.
– To encourage links between the University and society, by sharing knowledge and skills with public and private institutions dedicated to urban planning, management, data analyses, and project developments in the realm of urbanism, architecture, product and graphic design.
-To support interdisciplinary studies and research projects contributing to scientific, technological and cultural-artistic human development, toward urban, town planning, architecture and design problem solving after precise inventories, diagnosis, analyses and proposals for those questions.
– To strengthen ties between graduate and undergraduate urban planning, architecture and design programs within the Departamento de Arquitetura e Urbanismo e Design (DAUDUFC), improving research projects continuity and their further and productive developments.
