Alumni Profile
The alimni of UFC Master Degree in Architecture, Urbanism and Design Program should be effectively involved in teaching, researching, community service, critics, management, planning, design and other creative processes within the scope its disciplinary field and related areas of interest. We aim at providing academic training for architects, urbanists, designers and related professionals with strong commitment with the production of knowledge about urbanism, architecture and design. They should occupy positions at: (1) public and private universities and research centers; (2) urban planning agencies (such as federal, state and municipal secretariats that elaborate execute and evaluate urban and environmental policies); (3) documentation and preservation of built heritage research institutions; and (4) private consulting companies that elaborate plans and design proposals at both urban and building scale. The master program aims at improving the intellectual, critical and creative capacity of the students, enhancing their ability to elaborate planning analyses and surveys, and devise innovative approaches and solutions for current challenges of contemporary built environment, relating local and regional reality to the global scale, with dialogue and academic, cultural and artistic exchange, continuously producing knowledge. Lastly, we aim at qualifying our students to produce interpretations, representations and interventions consistent with contemporary challenges of urban development, urbanism, architecture and design articulating the idiosyncrasies of their field with other related fields.
